Implicit Attitudes: A Research-based model for understanding and interrupting subtle forms of bias and oppression

Glenda Russel, University of Colorado & Andrea Iglesias, University of Virginia

Description: This workshop focuses on implicit attitudes, an empirically-based framework for examining privilege and oppression. The model bypasses blame and allows participants’ energy to be put into making concrete changes. We will discuss applications to many domains, including therapy, outreach and prevention work, and training and activism.
